There are so very many ways of building a business that this is a tough topic to handle.  The choices range from traditional brick and mortar business to Web-based or hybrids. You can easily develop a website, participate in e-commerce, make money through the sale of products and services or join affiliate programs. Working for someone else will not increase your wealth.

In the coming months we will explore each of them in more depth but I will say this much right now; owning and operating a business is the single most direct way to begin accumulating wealth.

First and foremost, my advice to anyone is to never lose sight of the fact that it is a business - not a hobby.  Treat it seriously, seperate it from your personal accounts, and work at it routinely if you ever expect it to grow. You are business building and creating wealth. As Rich Dad in the Robert Kiyosaki books says - You need to mind your own business.

I would recommend that anyone considering establishing a business entity get educated on tax laws, incorporation and legal structure first.  The Small Business Administration has some wonderful resources available and there are some great books out there.  My personal favorites are in the Rich Dad Advisor Series by Robert Kiyosaki, but you will find your own. Also absolutely fantastic are the books of Robert Allen, whose focus is nothing down real estate and cash flow enhancement.
